The Rams will host Atlantic, Audubon, Clarinda, Harlan, Red Oak, Shenandoah and Southwest Iowa with spots in next week’s state tournament on the line.
Glenwood opens its postseason at home Saturday in the Class 2A district meet. Carter (195) and Mason Koehler (220) all won two matches on the night. The Rams opened the regional duals with a 43-40 victory over Albia in the opener. “It was rough ending to the dual but we had some good matches.” “He got caught in a bad situation and got pinned,” he said.

In the final match of the night, Glenwood’s Vinny Mayberry scored a 2-0 win over Christian Ahrens at 120 pounds. Creston took control of the dual in next match when freshman Lane Travis pinned the Rams’ Hunter Codney for six points and the 36-30 lead. With the Rams leading 30-24 with three matches the go, Glenwood had to take a forfeit at 106 that tied the score at 30-30. The Panthers clinched their second state dual tournament berth in the last three years in a dramatic dual that came down to the last two matches of the night.
Creston ended Glenwood’s dual wrestling season while notched a trip to Iowa State Dual Wrestling Tournament at last Tuesday’s regional duals in Creston.
